Human Rights Commission Public Hearings on Environment, Water and Food
On the 8th of June Animal Rights Africa attended the Human Rights Commission Public Hearings on Millennium Development Goals and the Realisation of Economic and Social Rights in South Africa Programme on Environment, Water and Food. Animal Rights Africa handed in a written submission covering the following issues: 1)Harming animals is in conflict with section 24 of the South African Constitution; 2)The legal recognition of animal rights in South Africa; 3)Problems with access to information held by government departments.
